Our motivation at Jan Aushadhi is deeply rooted in a vision shared by the Prime Minister of India, a vision where affordable healthcare is not just a policy initiative but a fundamental right for every citizen. The heart of our mission beats in sync with the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana, aimed at bringing cost-effective, affordable medicines within the reach of millions who are forced to navigate the daunting path of healthcare expenses.

The stark reality of healthcare inaccessibility hit home when we encountered heart-wrenching stories of individuals and families torn apart by the high cost of essential medicines. One such story that profoundly impacted us was of a young child, whose life could have been saved if only the life-saving drug she needed was not priced beyond her family's reach. Witnessing the despair in her family's eyes was a turning point for us; it was a moment of painful clarity that no one should ever have to endure such loss simply because the price of medicine was a barrier too high to overcome.

Another motivation came from an elderly man who had to choose between his medication and daily sustenance. The harrowing choice between health and hunger is a decision no one should face. These are not isolated incidents but a reflection of a larger, systemic issue that plagues our society.

Driven by these experiences and the countless untold stories simmering within our communities, we decided to open Jan Aushadhi Siliguri under the umbrella of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana. Our shop stands as a testament to our commitment to change, a beacon of hope for those who have been marginalized by the high cost of healthcare.
